This building addition/remodeling
added inpatient and outpatient magnetic resonance imaging diagnostic services
to a 300-bed Medical Center/Trauma Center. The 1.5 Tesla magnet is housed in
a shielded room addition. To help reduce patients' anxiety and sense of claustrophobia
during the procedure, the scan room features a high ceiling with a large skylight.
Designed to create a greater sense of volume and space, the skylight allows
views to the sky, and sunlight into the scan room.
